Apple introduces iTunes for the Macintosh, a program that converts audio CDs into compressed digital audio files, organizes digital music collections, and plays Internet radio.
    October 23, 2001
Apple unexpectedly announces the first iPod (codename Dulcimer) at a price of $399. Unlike most (but not all) competing digital audio players available at the time, Apple relies on a hard disk for storage instead of flash memory or interchangeable CD-ROMs, and uniquely focuses on promoting the small size, power, and ease of use of its device. The first iPod has a 5 GB storage capacity - enough for over 1,000 songs - and works only on Macs, using iTunes as a music organization and CD-to-iPod conversion tool. Did Apple release iTunes with the iPod in mind? According to an official Apple timeline, development of the iPod began only six months earlier.November 10, 2001
Apple ships the first iPod.Mid-November, 2001
Third-party developers begin to write workaround software that lets the iPod work with PCs. While first demo versions of the software are available in January of 2002, final versions won’t emerge until June of 2002.December 31, 2001
By the end of 2001, Apple has sold a total of 125,000 iPods.

GeForce 8800 Owners Getting Shafted by Nvidia?

January 31st, 2007 by M0tik

8800 Vista.jpg
It appears Vista’s “wow” has yet to start for many Nvidia GeForce 8800 card owners. Because the cards lack final drivers for Vista (they’re still in beta), people have reported that the new OS doesn’t recognize their graphics card and as a result defaults to VGA drivers, disabling all of Vista’s pretty Aero effects. What gives, Nvidia?

Meizu M8 takes a stab at iPhone

January 30th, 2007 by M0tik

meizu-m8.jpg
Chinese hardware manufacturers are extremely efficient, especially when it comes to “borrowing” designs. At first glance, the Meizu M8 looks very much like the Apple iPhone, but it definitely packs more punch that Silicon Valley’s offering. How does a 3.3″ 720 x 480 resolution display, a 3 megapixel camera, an integrated ARM11 processor for video recording at 30fps in 720 x 480 resolution, and 3G connectivity sound to you?

January 30th, 2007 by M0tik

larger_1.jpg
With Valentine’s Day coming up, every thing red and romantic seems to be the call of the day. So what place does the stark gray aesthetic sofa have in your life, did you say? Well flowers and colors is what it will you show you in return for affections bestowed upon loved ones. You can’t bring her the stars and the moon, but you can surely conjure up flowers and colorful patterns with each intimate hug! Using light emitting (Electrolumiscent) technology in conjunction with trigger sensitive materials, this sofa has been designed by DanielleSobik. When you and your friend sit apart on the sofa you will be surprised when a cold blue pattern begins to grow around you. The blue pattern signifies your distance apart from each other. With the pattern changing in relation to proximity, as you move towards each other warm pink petals begin to form signifying your closeness.
